Jordan is a current Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) student at UNSW with a deep passion for sustainable investment and reporting. He will be completing a thesis as part of his honours year which examines the effect of shareholder activism on the ESG performance of Australian firms.

PROFILE

Jordan is a current Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) student at UNSW with a deep passion for sustainable investment and reporting. He will be completing a thesis as part of his Accounting honours year which examines the effect of shareholder activism on the ESG performance of Australian firms.

Previously, Jordan was a 2019/2020 summer intern at Citigroup within the global consumer banking division. Placed within the mortgages team over the course of 12 weeks, he formulated a number of recommendations to improve the efficiency and scalability of Citi’s Mortgage variations team. Upon completing of his internship all of his recommendations where formally adopted by the firm. 

Whilst completing the remainder of his undergraduate studies, Jordan is currently working part time as an equity advisor at The Australian Amalgamated Investment Group. Here he conducts research and analysis in order to assist retail clients in building well-performing equity portfolios. Jordan holds an RG146 certification and all advice provided is general in nature. 

When not pursuing work/academic related endeavours, Jordan is an avid Mountain biker and videographer.

This discussion paper identifies the manner in which corruption affects ESG outcomes of mining companies and details specific methods of evaluating/calculating a mining company ‘exposure to risk. Strategies of response that investors can take to drive sustainable and responsible business practices within mining firms are also outlined within the report.
