Raramai Purazeni

I am currently in my second year at the University of Technology Sydney, studying a Bachelor of Accounting with majors in Accounting and Finance. I wish to understand how sustainability, social issues, and finance interact together and inevitably affect society.

PROFILE

I am a current student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), studying for a Bachelor of Accounting.

I previously worked for American Express Australia Pty Ltd. as a finance intern, where I was able to join controllership and begin learning the basics of an organisation’s inner workings and come into contact with social and environmental issues that were a talking point within the organisation. I have since moved from the banking and financial services industry into engineering consultancy. My current workplace’s nature is focused on testing materials extracted from the earth and its surroundings to be converted to usable assets for businesses and the broader community. Hence, I have gained an interest in preserving our environment and my indirect role in this process.

I hope to gain a better understanding of the issues within finance through my stay at Altiorem and perhaps pursue a research career should I find any topics of great interest to me. Apart from that, I would like to expand further my knowledge set by immersing myself in this central hub of knowledge.
