About the Expert Guide

This Expert Guide helps investors integrate human rights due diligence (HRDD) into ESG practice in a practical and actionable way. It explains how HRDD strengthens investment decision-making, risk assessment, and stewardship by putting people — not just financial materiality — at the centre of ESG analysis.

Drawing on interviews with leading responsible investment practitioners and the latest global standards, the guide outlines:

  • What HRDD means for investors
  • How to identify and address salient human rights risks
  • The evolving regulatory landscape (including modern slavery laws and due diligence mandates)
  • Practical steps for integrating HRDD across investment processes, engagement, and governance

The guide focuses on listed equities, where HRDD practice is most developed, but also highlights how the same principles apply across private equity, fixed income, infrastructure, and real assets.

What to Expect

  • Panel discussion – Hear industry leaders Saskia Kort-Chick, Gabriel Wilson-Otto and Nina Haysler discuss the importance of HRDD in ESG integration – moderated Charlotte O’Meara.
