GSG Impact is a charitable organisation focused on integrating impact considerations into all investment, business, and government spending decisions. Its mission is to build impact economies worldwide by creating the infrastructure and incentives for capital to flow towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate objectives.
The organisation operates through a network of over 40 National Partners, covering approximately 60% of the global population, with more than half located in emerging markets. These National Partners are inclusive and representative of their national impact ecosystems, bringing together leaders from business, finance, non-profits, and government sectors. They develop national impact strategies and implement policy and financial solutions tailored to their countries’ specific needs.
GSG Impact’s key focus areas include mobilising private capital for public good, enhancing impact transparency and integrity, and building impact economies in every country. To achieve these goals, the organisation strengthens the GSG Impact Partnership by creating new National Partners, fostering connectivity, and sharing knowledge. It also develops knowledge and advocates for action, particularly in impact transparency and capital mobilisation, and catalyses new investment vehicles in emerging markets.
In the realm of sustainable finance, GSG Impact plays a pivotal role by connecting global leaders, investors, governments, regulators, and social innovators to improve their impact on society and the environment. The organisation conducts evidence-based research to increase the understanding and implementation of impact tools for a wider range of stakeholders. This includes specific tools to support National Partners’ activities in their respective regions and countries.
GSG Impact regularly convenes impact stakeholders by hosting sector-leading events to bring the impact ecosystem together, share knowledge, and drive more support for the movement. These events and other convenings are key to progressing ideas towards implementation at scale. GSG Impact experts also regularly participate as panellists and speakers at leading global industry conferences and forums.
Through these initiatives, GSG Impact contributes significantly to the advancement of sustainable finance, promoting investments that generate positive social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns.
