Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Bec, I’m a third year bachelor of Commerce/Science student at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. I love traveling, cooking, eating different foods and exploring all the world has to offer.
What attracted you to Altiorem?
I was keen to volunteer at Altiorem because I had completed a Unit in my first year of University that focussed on the 17 sustainable development goals through a study tour in Malaysia. I saw the description and found it interesting that I would be able to tie what I learnt during this tour and my commerce skills that I had learnt through my degree to create a tangible resource.
How have you found the experience? How was it relevant to your studies?
This experience was exciting because I was actually able to put into practice what I had learnt, something I haven’t really done before.
What is the most interesting piece of research you have come across?
What I found most interesting was watching the Greenpeace documentaries, learning that smaller players were able to make massive changes for AGL due to strategic thinking.
What would you say to other people thinking about contributing to Altiorem?
I would say that it is a great experience if you are interested in completing research and have a background in Commerce, Arts or Global Studies.
