Overview and mission
EDHEC Business School (École des Hautes Études Commerciales du Nord), founded in 1906, is a non-profit international business school operating across campuses in Lille, Nice, Paris, London and Singapore. It partners with over 280 universities globally. Its strategy under “Générations 2050” (2024-2028) centres on long-term impact, social responsibility and sustainability.
Academic programmes and structure
EDHEC offers a broad portfolio: a four-year BBA, Master in Management (Grande École), specialised MSc programmes, full-time and executive MBAs, PhD tracks, online certificates and executive education. Governance is structured through oversight bodies ensuring strategic alignment, supported by research centres and chairs.
Research focus and innovation
Finance is a core research domain at EDHEC. It maintains multiple research centres and institutes, including the EDHEC Climate Institute (emerging from EDHEC-Risk legacy), which integrates spatial data, artificial intelligence and regulatory analysis to generate evidence-based insight for climate finance. EDHEC’s research efforts also span infrastructure, private assets, ESG and methodological tools for portfolio construction and risk assessment.
EDHEC participates in the global doctoral course in “Financial Economics of Climate and Sustainability”, hosting its PhD candidates and collaborating with leading institutions. It is also a member of the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment (GRASFI), reinforcing its footprint in global sustainable finance networks.
Sustainable finance integration
Sustainable finance is embedded in EDHEC’s offerings. It delivers an MSc in Climate Change & Sustainable Finance, a double degree with Mines Paris-PSL, combining finance, climate science, energy transition methods and certification (GARP SCR). The institution supports practical deployment via tools, databases, metrics and portfolio construction analytics that serve investors and decision-makers.
Value proposition
Prospective students, researchers and practitioners benefit from rigorous academic training, opportunities to work with real-world case sponsors, access to datasets and models in climate finance, and integration into networks operating at the intersection of finance and sustainability.
