Overview
Global Rights Compliance (GRC) is an international legal foundation established in 2013. Its core objective is to advance accountability and strengthen justice systems through rigorous application of international law. GRC operates globally, especially in conflict-affected and high-risk zones, to address grave human rights abuses and support justice processes.
Mission and focus areas
GRC’s mission centres on justice via the “innovative application of international law.” Its work spans international humanitarian law, international criminal law and business and human rights. GRC helps organisations — from businesses to governments — and civil society to identify, prevent and mitigate adverse human rights impacts. This includes advising on due diligence, human rights compliance and risk mitigation, thereby contributing to responsible business practices and aligning with global trends in sustainable finance and ESG-minded risk management.
Structure and governance
GRC is composed of a diverse team of international lawyers, investigators and development specialists. Its headquarters is in The Hague, Netherlands, with additional offices in cities including London, Washington DC and Kyiv. The foundation works through a collaborative framework involving experts in international law, development and human rights compliance, often engaging with governments, businesses and civil society partners.
Programs and offerings
GRC delivers a range of services including confidential legal advice, due diligence assessments, policy development, training and capacity building for organisations in high-risk environments. In conflict zones, it provides investigative support, evidence collection and case-building assistance to justice actors — for instance through mobile teams that support criminal prosecutions. GRC also assists clients from diverse sectors — including business enterprises, public bodies and investors — to align operations with international human rights standards. This combination of legal, advisory and operational tools helps organisations navigate complex risks, particularly in contexts where conflict or human rights exposure could affect sustainability, compliance or ESG performance.
