The Investment Leaders Group (ILG) is a global network of pension funds, insurers and asset managers committed to shifting the investment chain towards responsible, long-term value creation, such that economic, social and environmental sustainability are delivered as an outcome of the investment process alongside satisfactory, long-term investment returns. The ILG is a voluntary initiative, driven by its members, facilitated by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and supported by academics in the University of Cambridge.
The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential institute developing leadership and solutions for a sustainable economy. For nearly 30 years, CISL has worked with business, government and finance leaders worldwide to shape their leadership journey. Their work has led to the creation of a leadership network made up of nearly almost 8,000 senior leaders and leading practitioners who represent business, the public sector and civil society in every industry and on every continent.
Members co-develop tools and solutions to existing market barriers. In this way, members can pilot test research and put new thinking into practice ahead of the rest of the market. Members include: AEGON; AON; First State Investments; HSBC; La Banque Postale Asset Management; Nordea; Nuveen; PIMCO; State Street; Union Bancaire Privee; and Zurich. ILG have selected numerous areas for development including measuring investment impacts; promoting long-termism; understanding consumer preferences and behaviours; and climate risk and resilience.

An investment chain in which economic, social and environmental sustainability are delivered as an outcome of the investment process as investors go about generating robust, long-term returns.
Paid membership for ILG is the main source of funding.
