TRIBE Foundation was established by ordinary citizens, forming the TRIBE community, who wanted to contribute to ending human trafficking. Based in the United Kingdom, this registered charity raises funds and runs activities to raise public awareness, support survivors and prevent modern slavery.

OVERVIEW
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is a charity based in the UK with the aim of ending modern slavery and human trafficking. The founders, Tom Stancliffe, Guy Hacking and Rob Martineau established TRIBE in 2015, a natural performance nutritional brand for athletes. Since 2017, a percentage from the proceeds of every TRIBE product sold has gone directly to the TRIBE Freedom Foundation.
The foundation was inspired by the Run for Love, a 1,000 mile run from Odessa to Dubrovnik completed by the founders in 2013 to raise funds to set up the first home for trafficked children in the UK. The Run for Love has gone on to be a very successful with a goal of raising £250,000 in the fourth iteration of this event.
Over the course of 2021, the foundation’s yearly income achieved a 94% growth in fundraising since 2017, with £275,000 had been granted to provide support for projects and 120 trafficking victims.
Tribe’s objectives include:
- Increasing public awareness through press, events, training, talks and engaging online content with more than 31 million people reached across traditional media and social posts with Run for Love 3
- Long-term survivor support by working with project partners Snowdrop, Ella’s, Unseen and the Helen Bamber Foundation to support survivors overcome their exploitation and regain independence
- Preventing modern slavery by working in partnerships with key industry leaders such as the UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner to develop tools to prevent modern slavery across the UK and beyond
In 2019 the foundation teamed up with the UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner and Themis International Services to write a report to demonstrate how much the financial services sector can do in the fight against modern slavery. This culminated in the report “Preventing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking: An Agenda for Action Across the Financial Services Sector”.
