OVERVIEW
Generation Foundation provides insights for organisations that address key global issues regarding climate and global equality. Their publications encompass many media forms including white papers, reports, editorials, videos and roadmaps. Their publications advocate for sustainable capitalism as they mobilise asset owners, asset managers and other key participants in financial markets to support sustainable capitalism. Sustainable capitalism is an economic system within which business and capital seek to maximise long-term value creation, accounting for all material environmental, social and governance metrics.
In 2018, Generation Foundation published a series of country specific roadmaps to provide feedback on how countries can work with investors, stakeholders and policymakers to consider ESG components in their practises. Generation Foundation, alongside UNEP Finance Initiative and Principles of Responsible Investment, collated data from various industries in each country and provided organisation specific recommendations to implement well-defined and accountable policy that support the modern interpretation of fiduciary duty.
Some of their other work includes providing select grants to the field of sustainable capitalism and engaging with local communities in which the Foundation operates. Further, they utilise the partnership model to collaborate with individuals, organisation and institutions across industries and countries to provide catalytic capital where it is needed.
Generation Foundation has outlined key strategic priorities which range from all levels of impact. These include unleashing investor power to drive the low-carbon transition, addressing carbon risk and pricing at the firm level and empowering women and girls and creating new opportunities to push towards economic equality.
All research is done in-house, working with other organisations to address key global issues to persuade financial organisations and individuals to support sustainable capitalism.
