OVERVIEW
Schroders is a global, publicly-traded asset manager providing products and services for institutional clients including local authorities, pension schemes, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds. It also manages assets for end clients as part of its relationship with distributors, financial advisers and online platforms. Schroders products and services span a wide range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, multiasset, private assets and alternatives.
Schroders subsidiaries, Cazenove Capital (in the UK and Channel Islands) and Schroder Wealth (outside the UK), offer bespoke discretionary and advisory investment services to private clients, family offices and charities.
Schroders uses a six-step process to integrate sustainability research into the way they invest across asset classes and geographies and seek to deliver not only returns for investors, but better outcomes for society as a whole. Its Climate Progress Dashboard compares projections made by international organisations in four categories (political action, business & investment, technology development and fossil fuel use) to estimate the temperature change implied by the current progress seen in each category.
Schroders is a member of a number of key sustainability indices and organisation including FTSE4Good Index, Dow Jones Sustainability Indices and Carbon Disclosure Project. It is rated A+ for their approach by the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Investing organisation and the No.1 asset manager by ShareAction.
MISSION STATEMENT
At Schroders, our values of excellence, innovation, teamwork, passion and integrity provide the framework within which we operate, and support our approach to doing the right thing for our clients. These values define our reputation, determine the behaviours we expect of our employees and are integral to everything that we do.
Clients:
As a global firm and one of Europe’s largest asset managers, we recognise that we deliver value to society by encouraging businesses to act responsibly.
People:
Our people are our most important asset. Recruiting, retaining and developing this talent enables us to fulfil our potential as an organisation. We value and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, harnessing the strengths and differing points of view of individuals to surface ideas and insights.
Communities:
We support the communities in which we operate and encourage our employees to do the same. We have a continued focus on employee-led charitable giving and encourage payroll giving, as well as supporting employee fundraising efforts through matching. Employees in many of our offices can also take paid volunteering leave and apply for time matching for any volunteering they take part in outside of working hours.
Environment:
We are committed to minimising the environmental impacts of our operations and to delivering continuous improvement in our environmental performance.
