OVERVIEW
The Ethics Centre is a not-for-profit organisation developing and delivering innovative programs, services and experiences, designed to bring ethics to the centre of personal and professional life. The not-for-profit aims to bring people together, create space for open and honest conversations, and build the skills and capacity of people to live and act according to their values.
The Ethics Centre’s work ranges from live events such as the Festival of Dangerous Ideas, to social impact initiatives, corporate consulting, education and training, and counselling. The Centre works with multinational and listed companies; governments and the military, start-ups and non-profits; counsels people through some of their toughest challenges and developed leaders.
One such initiative related to sustainable finance is the Banking and Finance Oath (The BFO), which is an industry-led initiative that provides those working in financial services with a mechanism to reflect on what it means to behave ethically, and with integrity. With an aim of building trust and encouraging ethical behaviour, the Oath contains a set of commitments that individuals adopt and apply as personal principles in their work.
Other related initiatives include ‘Ethi-call’, a free, independent helpline that provides guidance and support to anyone facing a difficult ethical dilemma or decisions, and The Ethics Alliance, which is a community of organisations with a commitment to lead, inspire and shape a better way of working, and a better future. Members access unique insights, inspiration and core tools, to embed ethics at the centre of what they do. A calendar of stimulating events, roundtable discussions, articles and case studies, coupled with all-staff access to a unique decision making platform, supports members in sharing their successes and working through their challenges.
MISSION STATEMENT
