OVERVIEW
GGKP is led by a Steering Committee comprised of senior representatives from the global Green Growth Institute, Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the World Bank.
GGKP comprises of three knowledge platforms, offering quick and easy access to research, case studies, guidance and tools to empower policy makers and advisors, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), banks, insurance, and investment firms to make evidence-based decisions about how to green their operations. The three platforms are:
- Green Policy Platform
- Green Industry Platform
- Green Finance Platform
GGPK offers webinars, courses and academic programmes to facilitate learning and capacity building for green growth professionals. In addition, GGPK runs the Green Forum, an interactive online community for professionals to share ideas towards a sustainable economic transition. The GGKP draws together more than 75 partner organisations. GGKP enables its knowledge partners to easily manage and share knowledge on specific initiatives, as well as generates and applies knowledge through Expert Working Groups. The working groups are involved in research covering:
- Natural Capital
- Metrics and indicators
- Trade and competitiveness
- Sustainable infrastructure
- Behavioural insights
- Green growth and the law
- Inclusiveness
- Fiscal instruments
- Technology and innovation
GGKP is scaling its activities in two important ways. The first is expanding its successful approach of supporting collaborative knowledge generation, management, and sharing to other key stakeholder groups: the industry and finance communities. Second, GGKP builds on this knowledge foundation to facilitate an online expert exchange. The new GGKP focus also directly contributes to the achievement of numerous Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the promotion of sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all (SDG 8).
