OVERVIEW
Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) was formed in 1987, with the merger of Peat Marwick International and Klynveld Main Goerdeler and their individual member firms.
KPMG provides audit, tax and advisory services; collaborating with clients, helping them to mitigate risks and grasp opportunities. Clients of the firm include business corporations, governments and public sector agencies and not-for-profit organisations. KPMG works to contribute to the effective functioning of international capital markets, through supporting reforms that strengthen the markets’ credibility and their social responsibility.
KPMG’s Global Goals are an ambitious plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. The goals are universal, applying to all nations and people, seeking to tackle inequality and leave nobody behind. The ambition is to end extreme poverty and hunger by 2030. KPMG have signed a Sustainable Development Goal Business Manifesto on 19 September 2014, with 20 other organisations to articulate private sector willingness to help deliver sustainable development. To pursue their Global Goals, the members of the firm contribute to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals through their client work.
KPMG work with influential global industry analyst research firms, sharing insights and subject matter expertise. They are also allocating time and resources to progress with technology within their services. In 2017, KPMG launched Microsoft Azure, a cloud-based auditing system.
KPMG operates in 147 countries and territories and have 219,000 people working in member firms around the world. The independent member firms of the KPMG network are affiliated with KPMG International Cooperative (“KPMG International”), a Swiss entity. Each KPMG firm is a legally distinct and separate entity and describes itself as such.
