The Doughnut Design for Business Core Tool is a workshop resource developed by the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL). It guides businesses in aligning with the principles of Doughnut Economics, focusing on five key design layers: Purpose, Networks, Governance, Ownership, and Finance.
Targeted at business leaders, consultants, coaches, investors, and business networks, the tool facilitates workshops aimed at transforming business practices to be more regenerative and distributive. It offers practical steps for strategic redesign, helping companies identify and implement transformative ideas that contribute to a sustainable economy.
For finance professionals, the tool provides insights into integrating sustainable financial practices within the broader context of enterprise design. By addressing the Finance layer, it encourages the development of financial strategies that support long-term sustainability and equitable wealth distribution, aligning financial operations with environmental and social objectives.
Developed through pilot workshops involving over 300 businesses, the tool is available in both a comprehensive 5-hour version and a shorter 2-hour version, catering to different organisational needs.
