OVERVIEW
Energy Transition Advisors (ETA) is an entity that provides insight for both not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, and is concerned with energy markets and the transition away from fossil fuels, towards more sustainable sources of energy. The firm was founded in 2014 by Mark Fulton, who currently operates it from their Sydney headquarters.
ETA offers advisory and consulting services to the not-for-profit sector on critical financial issues such as carbon risk, cleaner energy trends and policy. A notable presence in this sector is the relationship ETA holds with the Carbon Tracker Initiative, assessing carbon risk from a financial standpoint.
Within their for-profit framework, their work considers the financial implications that an inevitable energy transition will have on the economy and many other sectors. This includes evaluating industry macroeconomic strategy trends in a way to mitigate risk on an investment level.
Research is also a key part of ETA’s advisory services. Team analysts, who all have proficient experience in financial markets, work to support research for both the not-for-profit sector and the commercial sector. Some of their most recent work includes:
- What is the Inevitable Policy Response to Climate Change?
- Energy Transition Advisors: Thermal Coal in Asia – Stopping the Juggernaut
The Inevitable Policy Response is built on the notion that their is a lack of policy tackling climate change, and investors will eventually need to respond to Governments that are forced to act more decisively. The reponse lays out policies that are likley to be implemented up to 2050, quantifying the impact on the real economy and financial markets.
