Overview
This benchmark series assesses workplace gender equality across publicly listed companies using a standardised and repeatable framework. It provides a structured view of how companies address gender equality within governance, workforce practices, and corporate policies. The series was initiated in 2017.
Purpose
The purpose of this benchmark series is to enable consistent comparison of corporate performance on gender equality across markets and over time. It supports transparency and comparability by applying the same assessment criteria across the research universe.
Methodology
The methodology is based on Equileap’s Gender Equality Scorecard, which evaluates companies against a defined set of indicators covering leadership representation, workforce composition, pay equity, parental leave, workplace policies, and accountability mechanisms. The assessment relies primarily on publicly available disclosures, with company engagement used to validate or clarify information where applicable.
Use for finance professionals
Finance professionals can use this benchmark series to support ESG integration, responsible investment analysis, and stewardship activities. It can also be applied for peer comparison, monitoring corporate disclosures, and assessing social and human capital management practices within investment universes.
